Monthly and Quarterly Close (35%)

  • Prepare inventory reconciliations between perpetual systems and the general ledger for 9 Distribution Centers (DCs); 4 domestic and 5 internationals.
  • Prepare analysis for inventory adjustments and shrink charges for each DC.
  • Work with the Hong Kong Finance team in preparation of quarterly liability adjustments.
  • Prepare quarterly reserves package to be reviewed by executive management.
  • Record all necessary journal entries resulting from reconciliations and analyses.
  • Ensure that closing calendar timelines are met for all tasks, effectively communicating any issues.

Financial Reporting, Planning, and Analysis (20%)

  • Prepare periodic reporting for global inventory.
  • Prepare explanations for P&L variances related to inventory charges.
  • Prepare explanations for inventory balance sheet flux analysis.
  • Assist in preparation of Audit Committee slides.
  • Prepare inventory reserves forecast and budget.

SOX Controls (35%)

  • Gather documentation and test monthly and quarterly SOX controls for all domestic and international DCs.
  • Perform periodic reconciliations to ensure systems are aligned.
  • Weekly communication with all DCs on cycle count controls.
  • Work closely with DC personnel and IT to resolve issues.
  • Review of daily reporting to ensure sustained compliance throughout the month.
  • Assist internal and external audit teams during financial and SOX audits and reviews.

Ad Hoc (10%)

  • Various requests as needed.
  • Maintain monthly tracking tool for all departmental related tasks.
  • Maintain departmental electronic mailbox.

Financial modeling, process improvement initiatives, etc.
Required Experience:


  • Bachelor’s degree in accounting required, Master’s degree preferred.
  • Minimum of 2-5 years corporate or public accounting experience; inventory experience a plus.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Excel.
  • Experience working in ERP and financial reporting systems; preferably SAP and HFM.
  • Experience working with general ledger applications.
  • Knowledge of SAP, Omnia, and HFM a plus.
  • Commitment to meeting daily, weekly, and monthly deadlines.
  • Highly organized and self-motivated; capable of working independently with little direction at times.
  • Able to handle changing priorities and multi-task.
  • Effective communicator, written and oral.
  • Able to work in cross-functional groups.
  • Able to assist in the management of departmental projects and initiatives.
  • Dedicated to contributing to the growth and success of the company.
  • Strong understanding of US GAAP.
  • Strong analytical skills with an ability to understand operational processes.
  • Knowledge and understanding of accounting theory and practice with a focus on inventory.
  • Ability to understand and articulate transactional impacts to financial statements.
  • Proficient with Microsoft Office products, especially Excel.
