General Summary:
This position will be responsible for the preparation and maintenance of financial accounts in conformance with prescribed accounting practices and Company policies, as well as various other functions as detailed below.
Key Responsibilities:
  • Monthly closings:
  • Reviews daily balancing reports in SX.e system and investigates/resolves issues arising from the reports.
  • Maintains general ledger module of SX.e business system, including adding/deleting/changing accounts, creation of reports, and monitoring of sub-ledger activity.
  • Accounts for vendor invoices that require use tax payments for multiple states.
  • Assists in preparation of audit schedules for any third-party audits.
  • Reconciles daily counter cash, makes daily deposits via check scanner and prepares weekly currency deposit.
  • Write-offs of accounts receivable invoices, as instructed.
  • Reconciles credit card deposits.
  • Monitors cash activity for unusual items.
  • Maintains C.H.A.R.G.E. checkbook and related activity.
  • Prepares and submits periodic government surveys.
  • Prepares data for annual Form 1099s.
  • Performs other special projects as requested.
Knowledge/Skills/Abilities:
  • Bachelors of Business Administration degree with concentration in Accounting, plus five years of practical accounting experience; additional experience in lieu of education will be considered.
  • Experience with SX.e business system a plus.
  • Experience with the filing and payment of sales and use taxes a plus.
  • Knowledge of other Microsoft Office products (i.e. Access, Word) is preferable.
  • Excellent organization and problem-solving skills required.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills required.
