This position reports directly to the Assistant Controller. The major duties will be to plan, develop and coordinate the preparation of financial analyses and reports including, but not limited to, operational and capital budgets, financial statements, statistical reports, cost analyses and other financial information; perform complex and specialized assignments in assigned area of expertise; perform lead role in coordinating complex projects.
DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
1.Plan, develop and coordinate the preparation of financial analyses and reports including, but not limited to, operational and capital budgets, financial statements, statistical reports, cost analyses and other financial information.
2.Maintain liaison with business unit financial managers to advise units regarding financial position, cash flows, accounts, budgets, budget requests and related financial matters.
3.Supervise, coordinate and participate in the preparation of various financial reports and analyses for senior leadership and external agencies.
4.Maintain and Manage Banner chart of accounts structure.
5.Assist in the development, implementation and management of financial systems, cost accounting systems and/or financial policies and procedures as appropriate.
6.Recommend and implements short- and long-range organizational goals, objectives, policies, and operating procedures; monitors and evaluates operational effectiveness; effects changes required for improvement.
7.Ensure proper accounting and analysis are performed for revenue and expense chargebacks.
8.Perform monthly reconciliations and conduct reviews.
9.Supervise other accounting staff.
10.Perform monthly and annual reasonableness calculation.
11.Work closely with Procurement Manager to identify increase in expenditures and recommended action of reduction as appropriate.
12.Revenue review monthly to ensure appropriate recording and perform trend analysis identifying shortfalls and work closely with Director of Grants & Contracts on revenue recognition.
13.Review Banner transactions monthly to ensure proper accounting and recording of revenue and expense transactions.
14.Performs miscellaneous job-related duties as assigned.

EDUCATION:
Bachelors degree in Accounting, Finance, Economics, Business Administration or a related field from a regionally accredited institution.
EXPERIENCE:
Work requires a minimum of six years experience in financial management, cost accounting, general accounting, or a field directly related to specialized area of assignment.
Masters Degree
Certified Public Accountant
