POSITION SUMMARY:
The Staff Accountant plays a key role in supporting the organization’s accounting operations by performing account reconciliations, analyzing balance sheet activity, preparing financial reports, and participating in month-end and year-end close processes. This position also assists with audits, supports internal reporting, and provides backup coverage for various accounting functions. The ideal candidate is detail-oriented, analytical, and committed to continuous process improvement.

POSITION RESPONSIBILITIES:
Perform timely and accurate month-end, quarter-end, and year-end financial close activities
Monitor and analyze general ledger accounts to ensure accuracy and compliance
Prepare and analyze financial reports and account reconciliations across multiple entities
Compile documentation and provide support for internal and external audits
Reconcile balance sheet accounts and investigate discrepancies as needed
Process credit card transactions and open lockbox items
Handle manual transactions including check-by-phone payments, manual EDI entries, incoming wires, NSF items, and bank deposits
Collaborate with the collections and cash application teams to ensure proper application of customer payments
Research and resolve unapplied or missing payments
Assist with ad hoc reporting, special projects, and process improvement initiatives
Provide backup support for other roles within the accounting department as needed

POSITION REQUIREMENTS:
Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or Finance
1–3 years of relevant accounting experience
Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and other Microsoft Office applications
Experience with SAP or other ERP systems preferred
Strong understanding of U.S. GAAP and general accounting principles
High level of accuracy, attention to detail, and organizational skills
Strong problem-solving skills with a proactive and analytical mindset
Excellent verbal and written communication skills
Demonstrated professionalism, business acumen, and integrity
Ability to adapt in a fast-paced and evolving environment
