Residency Requirement: Candidates should live within a commutable distance to the Pleasant Hill office. This is an in-office position (not hybrid).
Position Summary:
The Accounts Payable Specialist is responsible for data entry of daily accounting activity of SONC’s headquarters office and field areas.
Responsibilities/ Essential Functions:
· Process invoices through Accounts Payable (AP) and issue payments to vendors and employees.
· Assist with processing office cash receipts and prepare bank deposits.
· Perform accounting data entry as assigned.
· Reconcile General Ledger (GL) accounts as assigned.
· Reconcile bank accounts as assigned.
· Keep accurate records of incoming and outgoing payments to the organization.
· Provide accounting support/training to designated field programs.
· Monitor field compliance with accounting policies and procedures.
· Assist with annual audit preparation.
· Identify and provide solutions for accounting irregularities.
· File documents for efficient retrieval.
· Other duties as assigned.
Qualifications, Skills, & Experiences:
· 2 years of college-level accounting courses or minimum of 2 years accounting experience or combination of both education and experience.
· Demonstrated proficiency in the following skills & abilities:
· Strong organizational skills, ability to maintain accurate records.
· Verbal and written communication skills.
· Beginner to intermediate experience with web-based accounting platforms & expense management platforms.
· Familiarity with Microsoft Word, Excel, and Outlook.
· Ability to prioritize tasks and meet assigned deadlines.
Highly Desired:
· Experience with Blackbaud Financial Edge NXT.
· Experience with Concur Expense and Concur Invoice.
