ABOUT THE JOB
We are a dynamic and fast-growing organization seeking an experienced Accounting professional to join our Accounting and Accounts Payable team. This person will work in both Corporate Accounting and in Accounts Payable. They should have strong communication skills, detail oriented, and able to multi-task in a multi-company fast-paced environment.

This position will report to the Accounting Manager and is based out of Solana Beach, CA.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS/THE DAY-TO-DAY:
* Ensure company policies and procedures are followed
* Prepare and post journal entries, including accruing expenses (YHI accounts)
* Reconcile selected balance sheet accounts
* Generate Real Estate Sales invoices, AR reconciliation, late payment monitoring
* YHI credit card reconciliation and journal entries
* Review and process approved expense reports in SAP Concur, in accordance with T&E policy
* Analyze and process AP invoices prior to submission for approval
* Confirm vendor accounts are reconciled to vendor records
* Create and maintain vendor templates in Continia
* Obtain and set up new vendor information in system
* Communicate issues to Sr. AP Manager and Accounting Manager
* Support annual audit
* Prepare quarterly financial reporting

AM I THE RIGHT FIT?

Not everyone can be a Staff Accountant. To be seriously considered for the role here is what you’ll bring:

Education/Licenses/Certification:
* Required:
* Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field

Experience:
* Required
* 2-3 years accounting experience (including some Accounts Payable experience)
* Preferred
* Experience in Business Central, Continia, and SAP Concur

Skills/Traits:
* Strong knowledge of U.S. GAAP
* Detail-oriented and organized, and able to manage multiple tasks and responsibilities simultaneously, strong time management and project management skills
* Ability to write correspondence, speak effectively with managers and employees of the organization, as well as customers, suppliers and vendors.
* Ability to calculate figures and amounts such as discounts, interest, commissions, proportions, and percentages.
* Ability to solve practical problems and deal with a variety of concrete variables in situations where only limited standardization exists.
* Ability to interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram, or schedule form.
* Proficient in Microsoft Office applications, especially Excel and Word.


Physical Demands:
* Work is performed in an office environment and requires the ability to operate standard office equipment and keyboards, as well as sit for long periods of time

Our cash compensation amount for this role is targeted at $76,000.00 - $85,000.00 per year. Final offer amounts are determined by multiple factors including candidate experience and expertise and may vary from the amounts listed above.
