Essex Brownell is seeking a highly motivated and skilled Staff Accountant to
join our Accounting/AP Team. In this role, you will leverage your knowledge and
experience to support cash management and application processes, month end close
and other key functions necessary for the continued success of our Accounting/AP
Team.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
* Month End Close
* Complete journal entries
* Complete monthly reporting
* Complete account reconciliations
* Audit Assistance
* Prepare freight accounting schedules and entries
* Process invoices from suppliers
* Manage credit card program for card users through the bank and ERP system
* Key Resource in new ERP launch
* Perform other duties as assigned
REQUIRED KNOWLEDGE/SKILLS/ABILITIES & MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS :
* Bachelor’s in accounting or finance
* Strong self-starter and ability to work independently, including ability to
prioritize responsibilities
* Excellent interpersonal and communication skills
* Ability to meet deadlines with accurate and complete information
* Knowledge of accounting principles
* Strong analytical skills
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:
* Proficiency in Microsoft Word and Excel
* Experience in ERP systems
* 2 years’ experience in accounting or a related field
