Summary: 

Assists Director of Accounting and Treasury Management by overseeing and providing guidance to senior and staff accountants related to accounting processes and procedures. Reviews journal entries and work papers.  Researches generally accepted accounting principles (GAAP) and IRS tax application.  Prepares monthly journal entries and financial statements for the Hospital and its affiliates.  Prepares information required by management and external auditors, appropriate tax returns (990s) for the Hospital and its affiliates, and various other analyses and reports as required. Applies Toyota Lean principles to continually identify areas of efficiency related to departmental processes.

Minimum Qualifications: 

Bachelor's degree in accounting.

Meets one of the following:

Certified Public Accountant (CPA) license and three years of corporate accounting experience

Four years of progressively more responsible experience with a thorough knowledge of general ledger systems, business methods and GAAP accounting techniques.

In-depth knowledge and experience in preparing complex accounting reports and problem resolution.

Excellent interpersonal skills.

Extensive working knowledge of computerized general ledger software packages and advanced skills in Excel, and PowerPoint.

Preferred Qualifications: 

Certified Public Accountant (CPA).

One year of supervisory experience.
