General Overview

This position supports the Corporate Finance and Planning (CFP) team responsible for Rotary International (RI) or The Rotary Foundation (TRF) Consolidated reporting, supporting the RI General Manager areas, International Office (IO) or Associate Foundation (AF) support, budgeting and month end close.  The team provides business support including, but not limited to financial accounting, management and regulatory reporting, tax filings, internal and external compliance, governance, as well as transaction and other research. The ideal candidate is a professional with a broad range of experiences and capabilities, preferably in accounting, treasury, tax, financial and regulatory reporting, transaction processing and business process improvement.

Workstyle

You Will Have

  • BS/BA degree in Accounting, CPA, or 8 - 10 years of progressive experience in accounting and finance reporting, demonstrating technical knowledge and judgement equivalent to a CPA; advanced degree preferred. 
  • 4-5 years of progressive accounting & business operations experience
  • Proven knowledge of US GAAP; strong knowledge of financial analysis/modeling tools (ROI, discounted cash flows, variance analysis, etc.)
  • Proven knowledge of budgeting process
  • Experience working with internal and external auditors
  • Working Experience with accounting for foreign currency transactions; understanding of accounting consolidation & intercompany transactions, regulatory, tax, and internal compliance frameworks
  • Prior experience with ERP systems required, Oracle Cloud preferred
  • Strong research and analytical skills evaluating the adoption of Accounting Standard Update if needed   
  • Strong work ethic and sense of responsibility for delivering work independently, accurately and timely
  • Ability to build and maintain effective working relationships with internal and external stakeholders as well as across US and international offices
  • Ability to “shift gears” and prioritize tasks based on the immediate need of the business
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills in English
  • Solid computer and data-processing skills with proficiency in MS-Office, especially advanced knowledge of Excel functions
  • Willingness and ability to travel

You Will Be Responsible For
  • Continuous support to International offices in general ledger transactional research, reconciliations and training;
  • Monitoring and monthly reporting and analysis of the intercompany positions;
  • Account analysis and bank reconciliation tracking and monitoring for all Rotary International entities (international office, fiscal agents, RI World Headquarters – WHQ);
  • Performing complex bank and balance sheet reconciliations as assigned, providing back-up to the team on the BofA Concentration Account reconciliation;
  • Monitoring and researching cash and credit card clearing account activity to achieve the target zero or minimal balance;
  • Working on ad hoc projects as assigned;
  • Developing working independently and project-coordination skills;
  • Developing and maintaining Rotary International Policies and Procedures documentation as it relates to RI accounting/finance responsibilities"
  • Continuing focusing on fixed assets planning, reporting, and managing capitalization and amortization policy and processes.
  • Continuing providing financial support to Operations & Administration team on budgeting, reporting, compliance, and ad-hoc requests.
