Position
Overview
We are
seeking a dedicated and experienced Supervisor or Manager (dependent on
experience) to join our Fractional/Outsourced CFO team. This position will
report to Kelly Gilbert, the practice leader and one of the firm's
Shareholders. As a Supervisor or Manager, you will manage several outsourced
full charge CFO engagements across industries (not-for profit and for profit
enterprises) for both early stage entities as well as mature entities. You will
also develop and mentor associates, ensure client satisfaction, and contribute
to the firm's growth and development.
Key
Responsibilities
- Plan, supervise, and manage a portfolio of clients,
overseeing daily accounting operations, including A/P, A/R, billing, month-end
and year-end close processes.
- Be detail obsessed!
- Takes personal ownership of their work.
- Manage develop and mentor employees who will report directly
to you.
- Reviews associate research, work processes and conclusions to
ensure clarity, completeness, and accuracy.
- Complete client work in a technically sound, consistent and
reliable way.
- Prepare and review Balance Sheet, P&L, and General Ledger under the accrual basis of accounting in a proficient manner.
- Review and oversee the completion of:
- Monthly reconciliations of key accounts.
- Monthly and annual closings, including the recording of adjusting journal entries, as needed.
- Payroll journal entries utilizing a working knowledge of payroll processing.
- Monthly close process for assigned business clients and preparation of monthly financial statements for management use.
- Liaise with outside CPA firms for annual Assurance engagements and tax return preparation.
- Assist with development and adherence to standard operating procedures within practice group.
- Ensure timely collection of data for the preparation of Form 1099s.
- Demonstrates a comprehensive understanding of accounting principles and the ability to apply this knowledge to difficult areas or complex client engagements.
- Recognizes potential accounting issues and presents possible solutions to the individual responsible for the engagement.
- Can effectively perform research with minimal supervision and is able to identify and resolve most issues encountered.
- Exhibits an in-depth knowledge of new accounting pronouncements and uses this knowledge to identify client needs.
- Displays proficiency in Microsoft products, QuickBooks, and other relevant applications, and applies this knowledge to create high-quality deliverables.
- Seeks opportunities to learn new technologies and communicates technology solutions to client issues and/or to improve engagement efficiency.
- Ensure complete client satisfaction through open communication, demonstrated enthusiasm for their needs, meeting deadlines, and proactively sharing strategies.
- Be an active participant in business development through
community involvement, targeted networking and a strong understanding of
Firm concepts that distinguish us from competitors.
- Communicate problems and opportunities to the Executive Team
as appropriate.
Qualifications
- At least six to ten years of recent full charge corporate or
public accounting experience.
- Bachelor’s degree in accountancy or a related field
- A working knowledge of US GAAP.
- Significant QuickBooks experience (both desktop and online
versions).
- Prior experience managing teams.
- Tremendous discretion, personal integrity, and a positive
attitude.
- Certified Public Accountant (CPA) license (preferred but not
required)
- Ability to thrive in a team-based, fast-paced environment.
- Strong communication skills (verbal and written).
- Ability to commute to our new Lawrence, MA office.

Salary: $100,000
– $120,000 per year plus bonus, commensurate with experience.
