Cook CPAs and Consultants is a locally owned, growing, public accounting firm in Mount Vernon, Washington.  We serve clients both locally and throughout the United States.  We offer tax, accounting and consulting services in a variety of industries and believe our services are delivered with the highest value when we engage in a collaborative approach with our colleagues, our clients, and the communities we serve.

*Core Job Responsibilities:*

The Tax Manager is responsible for managing tax return and tax planning projects from start to finish. This includes:

* Direct and review the work of staff accountants
* Communicate directly with clients on engagement related items
* Train and supervise staff on routine accounting and tax engagements

*Education and Experience:*

Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Accounting or another relevant field required

* Current and valid CPA/EA license preferred
* 5+ years’ experience in public accounting, demonstrating a progression of complexity of accounting tasks and tax knowledge

*Professional Skills:*

* Strong technical skills pertaining to tax preparation and review, tax compliance, agency correspondence and tax research
* Strong written and verbal communication skills and an ability to problem-solve and think both creatively and logically
* A demonstrated ability to self-direct and effectively organize, prioritize and manage multiple engagements under tight deadlines

Pay: $100,000.00 - $125,000.00 per year
