Description:
*Job Summary*We are seeking an experienced Accounting Manager to oversee our financial operations and ensure compliance with accounting standards and regulations. The ideal candidate will possess a strong background in corporate accounting, financial management, and regulatory reporting. This role requires exceptional analytical skills, attention to detail, and the ability to mentor junior staff while managing a diverse range of accounting functions.
*Responsibilities*
* Manage all aspects of corporate accounting, including accounts payable, accounts receivable, payroll, and general ledger accounting.
* Ensure compliance with GAAP and other regulatory requirements in financial reporting.
* Prepare and interpret financial statements, including balance sheets and cash flow statements.
* Conduct financial analysis and forecasting to support strategic decision-making.
* Oversee the preparation of budgets and perform budgetary analysis to monitor financial performance.
* Mentor and train accounting staff on best practices in financial management and technical accounting principles.
* Manage the auditing process and ensure timely completion of audits while addressing any findings or recommendations.
* Maintain accurate records through double entry bookkeeping and account reconciliation processes.
* Utilize accounting software such as QuickBooks, Quicken, PeopleSoft, Sage, or Xero for efficient financial management.
* Ensure proper documentation for tax compliance and manage tax-related inquiries.
* Collaborate with other departments to provide insights on financial concepts affecting overall business performance.
*Experience*
* Proven experience in corporate finance or public accounting with a strong understanding of SOX compliance, LIHTC regulations, governmental accounting, non-profit accounting, securities law, wills & trusts law, and private equity principles.
* Proficiency in Microsoft Excel for data analysis and financial report writing is essential.
* Familiarity with auditing standards and practices along with experience in regulatory reporting is highly desirable.
* Strong knowledge of accrual accounting principles, cash flow analysis techniques, and balance sheet reconciliation methods is required.
* Demonstrated ability to perform account analysis and manage complex financial transactions effectively.
