_*Senior Accountant II – Healthcare (Salt Lake City)*_Our client, a leading healthcare organization dedicated to making care easier and lives better, is seeking a *Senior Accountant II* to join their *Salt Lake City, UT* team. This high-impact role combines technical accounting expertise with leadership responsibilities, supporting enterprise-level operations in a mission-driven environment. The *Senior Accountant II* plays a key role in financial reporting, audit readiness, system integrity, and policy development. You’ll provide advanced accounting analysis, lead projects, guide staff accountants, and partners across departments to deliver timely, accurate, and compliant financial information.

*Salary range: *$92K–$110K DOE
*Key Responsibilities of a Senior Accountant II: *
* Lead preparation, review, and analysis of monthly corporate and subsidiary financial statements (GAAP & statutory).
* Oversee journal entries, reconciliations, cost allocations, variance analyses, and forecasting, present findings to senior leadership.
* Research and interpret new accounting, auditing, and regulatory standards (GAAP, SAP, CAS, FAR); advise on impacts and implementation.
* Partner in the design, testing, and enhancement of complex financial systems (Workday, PeopleSoft).
* Lead portions of the monthly close process; mentor and review work of two staff accountants (non-supervisory).
* Support major initiatives including mergers, system conversions, and new product launches.
* Coordinate and prepare audit schedules; resolve inquiries with internal and external auditors.
* Develop and refine internal controls, financial policies, and procedures.
* Collaborate cross-functionally to drive process improvements and ensure compliance.
*Qualifications of a Senior Accountant II:*
* Bachelors in Accounting, Finance, or Business.
* CPA, CMA, or MBA preferred.
* 5+ years of relevant accounting experience.
* Healthcare industry experience required.
* Enterprise-level systems experience (Workday, PeopleSoft required).
* Advanced Excel skills: proven ability to manage projects and deliver executive-level financial insights.
* Strong leadership and mentoring abilities in a collaborative, professional environment.
