Position Details:

  • Title: Senior Financial Reporting Accountant
  • Schedule: 8:30 am - 5:00 pm, M-F with some flexibility. *This position is ONSITE in an office setting.
  • Ideal Candidates: The ideal candidate will have at minimum, a bachelor's degree in accounting, an Active Certified Public Accountant (CPA), Certified Management Accountant (CMA), or MBA preferred.
  • Location: Gibbstown, NJ (08027) - *No relocation available*
  • Salary Range: $80,000 - $100,000 annually, based on experience and qualifications. 

Position Overview: 

The Senior Financial Reporting Accountant will play a critical role in all aspects of our financial reporting cycle, including month-end close and preparation of consolidated financial statements development, maintenance and refinement of financial reporting policies, practices and procedures for the Company and its domestic and foreign subsidiaries. 

Essential Job Functions: 

  • Preparation of consolidated financial statements for the global organization, ensuring accuracy and adherence to accounting principles and reporting standards.
    • Oversee financial activities for multiple entities (in different currencies), ensuring accuracy, integrity, and compliance with regulatory requirements
    • Collaborate with cross-functional teams and foreign subsidiaries to streamline financial processes, identify opportunities for process automation, and enhance efficiency and accuracy to meet changing business needs.
  • Responsible for the month-end and year-end closing processes, ensuring accuracy and timeliness.
    • Complete monthly reconciliation (Balance Sheet, P&L) and analysis. Research balance sheet items and income/expense fluctuations utilizing various systems and information sources.
    • Conduct monthly performance financial analysis including variance analysis and trend analysis to provide financial business insights and potential areas of improvement to assist in decision-making processes.
    • Prepare internal management reports, including divisional financial statements and other financial documents. Participate in the development and implementation of financial systems to maintain accounting policies to enhance efficiency and effectiveness and ensuring consistency and adherence across different entities.
  • Stay up-to-date with changes in accounting standards, regulations, and industry best practices, and ensure their incorporation into global financial operations.
  • Assist in managing compliance with regulatory requirements, improve and maintain effective internal financial control and risk management procedures to safeguard company assets.
  • Play crucial role in implementing new financial reporting software, including ERP, CPM and Business Intelligence tools or upgrades for department improvement and efficiency when relevant.
  • Collaborate with stakeholders and finance teams across different regions to facilitate knowledge sharing, best practices, and consistent financial practices.
  • Perform additional duties/tasks as needed or requested by management.

Qualifications: 

  • Minimum of Five (5) years of progressive experience in a combination of public accounting (assurance services) and financial reporting mid-to-large environment required. Manufacturing Industry Preferred.
  • Experience in Consolidation required.
  • Strong Working knowledge and understanding of financial statements (including Statements of Cash flow) and general ledger. High proficiency in GAAP with an emphasis on inventory principles.
  • Proficiency with accounting research tools and techniques.
  • Exceptional computer skills (Microsoft Office) - advanced knowledge of Microsoft Excel.
  • Proficiency in ERP systems.
  • Excellent oral, written, listening, and presentation skills and ability to clearly articulate complex information to others.
  • Strong attention to detail, demonstrated integrity and professionalism.
  • Proven ability to perform under deadlines, to adjust plans to meet changing needs and requirements.
  • Must be an effective team player.
  • Self-starter, strong initiative, dependable and capable of following through with minimal supervision.

Desired Skills: 

  • Microsoft D365/DAX knowledge.
  • Cost Accounting experience
  • Manufacturing Industry experience

Education/Certifications: 

  • Bachelor’s Degree, Accounting major required.
  • An Active Certified Public Accountant (CPA), Certified Management Accountant (CMA), or MBA preferred.
