Position Summary:

Reporting to the Manager, Accounting, the Staff Accountant, is mainly responsible for the timely and accurate production of month end analyses, bank reconciliations, and assistance with compliance.


This position requires 2 days in our New York City office and 3 days remote work each week. 


Essential Functions and Responsibilities:


Prepare account analyses for balance sheet and P&L

Perform month end journal entries necessary to close ledgers

Perform monthly account reconciliation in conjunction with monthly close

Assistance with preparation of state compliance.

Reconcile differences between A/P or A/R modules and GL when appropriate

Reconcile Bank accounts accurately and in a timely manner with attention to unusual items that remain outstanding at the end of month

Assist in the annual audit preparation

Performs other duties requested by management


Qualifications

Must be able to work independently, in groups and willingness to be assigned to help  team members in order to achieve department goals

Strong analytical skills

Able to communicate clearly in both verbal and written form and relate effectively with others

Advanced Excel skills (i.e., pivot tables, Xlookups, macros, etc.)

1-3 years relevant experience

National or big 4 audit experience preferred

Minimum of a Bachelors Degree in Accounting

Familiarity with data analytics tools (e.g., Power BI, Tableau, Python, etc.)

Experience in Microsoft Dynamics GP (Great Plains) accounting software a plus
