Job Title: Senior Financial Accountant

Reports To: Chief Financial Officer

Position Overview: The Senior Financial Accountant will join the PVA Finance Department team as an experienced accounting and finance professional. Reporting directly to the Chief Financial Officer, you will be responsible for analyzing, organizing, preparing, reconciling, reporting, and reviewing accounting and financial data with due care and diligence to produce reliable and accurate financial information for both Internal and External users. In addition, you will assist in the performance of Chapter internal audits, managing vendor risk and temporarily filling the Assistant Controller role as needed.


Position responsibilities and duties:

  • Assists in the preparation, management, and monitoring of the annual budget.
  • Prepare Financial Analytics, Cash Flow, Financial projections, and other financial metrics on a monthly, quarterly, and annual basis.
  • Liaison for Chapters including assisting CFO in chapter audit visits and providing accounting support.
  • Manages and supports the risk assessment of key vendors.
  • Performs the key functions of the Assistant Controller as a temporary replacement during absences.



  • Bachelor’s degree in accounting or finance.
  • A minimum of five years of related experience.
  • Proficient in MS Office Suite
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Excellent problem-solving and analytical skills.
  • Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail.
  • Ability to multi-task in a fast-paced environment.
  • Strong Knowledge of general financial management and Nonprofit Accounting
  • Proficient with spreadsheet and database software.
  • Ability to act independently with minimal daily direction.
  • Ability to meet assigned deadlines and prioritize work.
  • Ability to work cooperatively and collaboratively with all levels of employees & management.
