Position Overview:

We are seeking a detail-oriented and motivated Staff Accountant to join our dynamic team at Lohmiller & Company. As a Staff Accountant, you will play a crucial role in managing financial transactions, analyzing financial data, preparing financial reports, and ensuring compliance with accounting principles and regulations. This position offers an exciting opportunity to contribute to the financial success and growth of our HVAC distribution company.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Assist with preparation of accurate and timely financial statements, including income statements and balance sheets.
  • Conduct monthly, quarterly, and annual financial close processes, ensuring accuracy and completeness of financial records.
  • Analyze financial data and provide insights to management on financial performance, trends, and forecasts.
  • Assist in budgeting, forecasting, and variance analysis to support strategic decision-making.
  • Oversee the reconciliation of bank accounts, credit card statements, and other financial accounts.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to implement technology solutions to improve efficiency of accounts payable expense processing through Electronic Data Interchange implantation.
  • Manage and maintain sales tax process and procedure to ensure accurate tax collection.  Assist with sales tax audit documentation.
  • Maintain accounting records for affiliate companies including real estate limited liability companies.
  • Monitor and enforce compliance with accounting policies, procedures, and internal controls.
  • Coordinate with external auditors during annual audits and provide necessary support and documentation.
  • Participate in special projects and initiatives as assigned.

Job Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in accounting, finance, or related field.
  • Minimum of 3 years of progressive experience in accounting, preferably in the distribution or manufacturing industry.
  • Strong understanding of accounting principles and practices, including GAAP.
  • Proficiency in accounting software such as Prophet 21 or QuickBooks.
  • Advanced Excel skills, including pivot tables, vlookups, and financial modeling.
  • Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills, with attention to detail.
  • Ability to prioritize tasks and manage multiple deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively with cross-functional teams.

Offered compensation:

$60,000/yr - $70,000/yr.
