Description:
The West Virginia Housing Development Fund is a quasi-state agency, public body corporate and governmental instrumentality of the State of West Virginia. We work to reduce homelessness and improve housing stability throughout the state by increasing the supply of housing for persons and families of low and moderate income through construction and mortgage financing. To date, the Housing Development Fund has issued more than $4.3 billion in bonds and has financed more than 120,000 housing units since it began operation in 1969. The West Virginia Housing Development Fund is an Equal Housing Opportunity Lender.
Job Summary: This employee will assist the Senior Manager – Accounting in maintaining accurate and updated financial and accounting records. The work requires the applications of established procedures, attention to detail, and applications of generally accepted accounting practices. This employee will have access to sensitive and confidential data; therefore, confidentiality must be maintained at all times.
Essential Functions:
Prepares daily general ledger entries and deposits;
Prepares daily cash write up and investments;
Prepares various reconciliations;
Assists with imaging and review of various documents;
Prepares various accounting schedules, analyses, and reports as required; and
Serves as backup for various functions within the department.

Supervisory Responsibility: N/A
Work Environment/Physical Demands: The employee in this position may be required to sit at a desk for long periods of time. Routinely uses standard office equipment such as computers, phones, etc.
Required Education/Experience: Associate degree in Accounting or Finance with a minimum of three years of accounting experience. Proficiency in Excel, Word and accounting software.
Preferred Education/Experience: Bachelor degree with accounting emphasis.
