Job Summary


The Senior Accountant’s primary role is overseeing the financial operations of the company to ensure financial records are accurate, reported timely, and within budget. This position will report to the Executive Vice President of Operations and work closely with all divisions within the company to achieve the company’s strategic goals. The Senior Accountant serves as a consultant for the leaders within the organization advising them of budgetary information and helping to create a fiscal strategy that aligns with the goals of the organization. In addition, this role is responsible for providing exceptional service to all stakeholders in the industry of educational assistance to differentiate the company within the competitive landscape. Key Responsibilities*


Administrative Financial Operations


  • Lead the financial operations of the organization to ensure the effectiveness and accuracy of all accounting tasks including but not limited to:
    • Manage the operation of the accounting department by utilizing and enforcing proper accounting methods, policies, and principles
    • Monitor and analyze accounting data, and produce financial reports and statements
    • Prepare the company’s annual budget, in collaboration with key stakeholders
    • Coordinate and support annual financial audit
    • Execute necessary processes related to annual tax filings


Client Program Funds


  • Oversee the reconciliation and related reporting of client educational assistance program funds.
    • Manage the disbursement and reconciliation process in support of strategic clients
    • Resolve client inquiries quickly and effectively
    • Ensure milestones and deliverables are met according to timelines


Strategic Partnership


  • Partner with the Executive Team, and internal and external stakeholders to innovate and improve current accounting practices and policies.
    • Provide continual process improvement on established processes
    • Document processes to ensure scalability
    • Research industry trends for applicability to business needs

What You Should Know

  • This position operates from your professional home office with infrequent travel for any required company and/or team meetings in Nashville, TN.
    • You will be provided with the equipment necessary to perform this role but are expected to provide a safe and professional environment from which to work.

What We Require

  • Bachelor's degree from an accredited college or university in business finance or accounting or an MBA is required.
  • At least 3 years of experience in a fast-paced accounting department
  • Working knowledge of GAAP and GL oversight
  • Working knowledge of ASC 606
  • Working knowledge of tax filings such as 1099s and business tax forms
  • Proficiency in QuickBooks Desktop and/or Quick Books Online
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office 365 Suite
