Base Compensation Range: $60,000 – $80,000 annually

The Field Project Accountant Supervisor is a hands-on member of the finance team that will travel to the project site to work closely with the project managers, supervisors, and project directors to ensure that time and material data is documented correctly in support of accurate and timely billing. Playing a critical role in real-time project documentation and workflow, the field project accountant’s role supports two key functions: quality job documentation and billing preparation. They will need to train and supervise a team that rapidly fluctuates with seasonal work.

  • This is a nationwide travel position. (70% of the time.) Some out-of-area and overnight travel may also be expected for training or meetings

The Field Project Accountant owns the data gathering and bill execution on large Time & Material invoiced projects from beginning to end. Working closely with the project managers, project directors, and accounts receivable, they ensure a quality final product. Field Project Accountants handle multiple projects in a fast-paced team environment and organize large volumes of information. Review and audit field information submitted for accuracy & provide backup and support to different departmental functions.
Additional responsibilities include the following:

  • Enters field information into FieldConnect daily
  • Trains and Manages Field PA’s, both full-time employees and temporary employees
  • Ensures a high quality of work within the team
  • Reviews subcontractor/supplier terms and conditions and review invoices submitted for accuracy
  • Prepares daily burn rate estimates
  • Prepares lien releases to go out with subcontractor payments
  • Tracks and obtains lien release from subcontractors after payment
  • Assists in preparing “Per Diem” request forms for Project Managers' approval
  • Prepares and reviews T&M invoices
  • Investigates and follow through on billing issues
  • Complies with Corporate contract terms with legal requirements and policies
  • This position will manage Field Project Accountants at the company.


  • Highly motivated, detail-oriented with excellent communication and organizational skills
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office, with an emphasis on Microsoft Excel
  • Proficiency & understanding of ‘cloud-based document systems and familiarity with how to upload and share documents
  • Self-starter driven to complete projects on time while maintaining high-quality standards
  • Ability to handle multiple projects and assignments simultaneously
  • Ability to multi-task, reprioritize, and meet strict reporting deadlines


  • Proficient experience with FieldConnect, Vista, or T&M Pro
  • 3+ years of experience in a Project Coordinator/Project Accountant position preferred
  • Proficient experience with Microsoft Office products, including Word and Excel
  • Willingness to travel > 75% of the year
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Ability to interact with employees and vendors in a clear and professional manner
  • Ability to work independently and as a member of a team with emphasis on accuracy, communication, and organizational skill and meeting required deadlines
  • Experience in the construction industry is preferred
  • Corporate contract terms with legal requirements and policies


  • BS in Accounting/Finance or relevant work experience preferred
