Job Description
Financial Aid and Scholarships at Texas State University seeks an experienced accountant and financial aid professional to work in the office’s accounting team.

Reporting to the Assistant Director of Financial Aid and Scholarships, the Accountant II is responsible for the reconciliation of financial aid accounts (I.e., federal, state, and institutional accounts). In addition, this position is charged with meeting reporting requirements in a high stress environment, ensuring compliance with financial aid rules and regulations, assisting with federal and state reports, resolving reporting-related customer service issues, and conducting job-related research.

Job Duties
The Accountant II is responsible for performing effective and timely account reconciliations, monitoring and resolving federal unclaimed property payments, tracking EFT rosters, returning funds to the appropriate entity, and performing other reporting and research activities. This position is also tasked with keeping abreast of all pertinent federal and state financial aid regulations. In addition, this individual will be charged with providing excellent customer service to both internal and external customers, assisting in analyzing data to facilitate the effective management and utilization of federal, state and institutional funds, and helping with quality control and compliance activities.

Additional Information to Applicants
Flexible schedules available, including part-time remote and four-day work weeks. Occasional overnight travel and work beyond normal 8-5 business hours may be required during peak business periods.
