Full Job Description


The UCLA Department of Emergency Medicine and its Center for Prehospital Care seek an experienced Accountant to join our team. The Ideal candidate will work well in a fast-paced, energetic environment and possess a positive attitude. Attention to detail and accuracy is required. This position requires a candidate who works well in a team environment, embraces a growing department, and has excellent communication skills.

Accountant will have primary responsibility for day-to-day accounting functions including:
1. Income and Accounts receivable
2. Expenses and Accounts payable
3. Reporting and analysis Contracts & Grants
4. Budget Preparation



1. Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting or Business Administration with course work in Accounting.
2. Two years of Accounting Experience.
3. Knowledge of generally accepted accounting principles, techniques and function.
4. Highly detail oriented with strong, organizational, analytical and problem solving skills.
5. Ability to work accurately with mathematical figures even with constant interruptions.
6. Advanced skill in computer programs e.g. Word, Excel, Outlook, and PowerPoint in order to perform accurate word processing, data base management, spreadsheets functions, and program scheduling.
7. Demonstrated understanding of University financial/accounting systems and procedures, including: CDW, DG Inform, BruinBuy, UCLA Corporate Finance Services Portal, Monetary Transfer of Funds portal
and QDB.
