Senior Accountant with strong technical accounting and general ledger skills who is able to work independently to complete projects with high-level guidance from manager. The Corporate Accounting group coordinates the close of the general ledger, including preparing and reviewing journal entries and account reconciliations for multiple Corporate non-operating companies. The group is responsible for certain recurring areas of accounting including key reserves, derivatives, pension, compensation, debt and equity. The group has a dynamic mix of work involving implementation of new accounting standards, and participation in purchase accounting, integration of acquisitions or divesture projects. The successful candidate will thrive in a fast-paced environment.

What You’ll Do
As a Senior Accountant, you’ll get to:
  • Identify opportunities to streamline accounting data and processes and work cross functionally to design and implement changes
  • Responsible for the month end, quarter end and year end close processes for Corporate related functions (i.e. Derivatives, Pension, Debt, Equity, Intercompany Loans, Special Compensation, License fees, Payroll, etc) that includes the following:
    • Prepares and posts journal entries and understands the technical accounting supporting journal entries
    • General ledger reconciliation
    • Research and clear intercompany out of balances
    • Financial statement analysis
  • Actively engage business leaders and various corporate and business departments to drive efficiency in accounting close and resolve intercompany issues
  • Coordinates monthly Corporate Accounting scorecard packages, year-end reporting and tax packages
  • Coordinates, reviews and prepares schedules for internal and external auditors
  • Uses professional accounting concepts and internal company policies to solve complex accounting issues
  • Coordinate with Accounting Systems Manager and/or Business IT to enhance the General Accounting system(s)
  • Assist non-financial departments with reporting and accounting issues and participate in financial projects and initiatives
  • Provide guidance and support to team members to help improve performance and develop technical competencies
  • Assist with accounting policy or procedure changes, communication needs, etc.

  • BS in Accounting required
  • Self-motivated CPA with 3-4 years of progressive accounting experience in public accounting firm; Big 4 preferred
  • Solid technical skills and ability to analyze new transactions
  • Exhibits strong time management skills and is able to work through roadblocks to meet commitments timely
  • Experience with SAP and Hyperion (Enterprise/HFM) systems preferred
  • Possesses excellent written and interpersonal communications, should be able to effectively collaborate and interact with others
  • Self-motivated and able to work on cross functional teams
  • Innovated team player that challenges current processes
