We are looking for a Senior Accountant, Consolidation & Reporting, to be based in Brooklyn, NY, and reporting to the Senior Manager, Consolidations & Reporting.
The position requires an experienced accounting professional capable of managing multiple priorities in a dynamic, rapidly growing and fluid organization. You must be highly analytical, organized and skilled at creating structures and definitions in situations that are uncertain or ambiguous. The successful candidate will adapt quickly to change and will champion the advancement of policies, structure, procedures, and controls that will enhance the finance function at Etsy.
About the Role
Track progress of the month-end close process, ensuring deadlines are met.
Prepare monthly worldwide consolidation of Etsy financial statements, including validation of FX impact and elimination of intercompany activity and balances.
Prepare and consolidate accounting information reported by legal entities, including preparation of consolidated balance sheet and income statement analytics.
Prepare journal entries and reconciliations relating to intercompany transactions and other accounting areas as needed.
Manage global intercompany, working closely with treasury, tax, and international accounting teams, to ensure timely settlement of balances and to minimize FX exposure
Ensure the financial records are maintained in compliance with US GAAP and with internal policies and procedures.
Assist with the development and preparation of monthly internal reporting package.
Support the FP&A team in preparation of monthly management reporting packages.
Support the SEC Reporting team by consolidating key performance indicators for various disclosures and preparing the consolidated statement of cash flows in the Company’s Form 10-Q and Form 10-K.
Assist in fulfilling audit requirements, as needed.
Assist in planning, testing, and implementing various system changes and other ad hoc projects as needed
Minimum of 3 years of experience with public accounting or in a fast-growing company
Experience working at a publicly-traded company preferred
Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or related field
Basic accounting knowledge base with a strong interest in expanding the skill set.
The ability to work independently and follow tasks through to completion and meet commitments, proactively, seeking guidance as necessary.
