We’re looking for a Senior Accountant to help lead our efforts, oversee the recording, analyzing, and reporting of HA Group ship operating expenses including Repairs and Maintenance, Entertainment, Insurance and Freight and Logistics.

The Senior Accountant will work with teams across Holland America Group, with reporting offices in Santa Clarita, CA, and Seattle, WA, we’re looking for amazing humans across the country for this role. HA Group offers strong compensation and outstanding benefits including cruise travel.

Responsibilities

  • Oversee the preparation of timely and accurate financial information. This includes Repairs and Maintenance, Entertainment, Freight and Logistics, Insurance and other Non-Operating Expenses.
  • Provide timely reconciliations of balance sheet accounts.
  • Support team in the annual process of developing the Insurance financial plan.
  • Engage and communicate with all levels of management and cross functional teams.
  • Completes monthly variance analysis of Actual results to Plan and Forecast in accordance with published timelines and standards
  • Provide meaningful information and analysis on ad-hoc inquiries to meet departmental objectives of financial analysis support
  • Continuously work to improve efficiency and effectiveness of related business processes and understand and address inherent compliance/control risks.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Finance or Accounting, or related field, CPA preferred.
  • Candidate must possess the ability to work with minimal supervision and have a take-charge personality.
  • Exceptional written and verbal communication skills.
  • Capable of effectively prioritizing and managing multiple projects.
  • Intermediate to advanced Excel knowledge.
  • Flexibility with regard to peak work times, particularly month end close.
  • Experience with Oracle or another enterprise level accounting system preferred.
  • Experience with Blackline preferred.
