Your daily responsibilities include:
SUMMARY
The Senior Accountant (Accounting) is responsible for assisting with the monthly close for Corporate entities as well as applying generally accepted accounting principles while working with, and analyzing, both Corporate and Property financial information.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
The following and other duties may be assigned as necessary:

  • Ensures timely completion of the monthly close for Corporate entities, including addressing any issues that may arise. Provides input for corrections and process improvements as needed.
  • Provides training to new and existing staff.
  • Analyzes financial information to summarize and interpret current and projected company financial results for Accounting Manager or Director of Accounting.
  • Reviews prepared reconciliations and makes corrections as needed.
  • Conducts studies and submits recommendations for improving the organization’s accounting operation.
  • Analyzes and/or posts monthly recurring and non-recurring journal entries. Analyzes and/or prepares supporting work papers for Corporate entities. Makes corrections as needed and makes recommendations for process improvement to Accounting Manager.
  • Ensures documentation, including appropriate sign-offs, is completed for all key controls, and coordinate requests with internal and external auditors.
  • Assist with inter-company transactions between Corporate and the Company’s subsidiaries.
  • Responsible for the administration of corporate fixed assets (including, but not limited to, additions, disposals, and monthly depreciation).
  • Assists with the preparation or review of assigned sections of the Company’s Form 10-K and Form 10-Q filings.
  • Responsible for completion of certain quarterly analytics and review procedures of the Company’s subsidiaries’ financial information.
  • Enthusiastically supports, actively promotes, and demonstrates superior customer service in accordance with department and company standards and programs.
  • Responsible for ensuring the compliance with all regulatory compliance within area of responsibility and reporting potential issues to management.
To be successful in this position it will require the following skill set:
  • Bachelor's degree (B.S.) in Accounting or Finance from accredited four-year college or university; or three to four years of related experience; or equivalent combination of education and experience. Gaming experience preferred but not required.
  • Must have strong analytical and communication skills, both verbal and written.
  • Ability to prepare reports, business correspondence, and procedure manuals.
  • Ability to effectively present information and respond to questions from groups of managers, clients, customers, and the general public.
  • Must have comprehensive knowledge of Microsoft Office products (Outlook, Word, Excel, Access, Teams). Familiarity with accounting software packages (Great Plains, QB, NetSuite) and BI tools (Cognos, etc.) is preferred.
  • Ability to calculate figures and amounts such as discounts, interest, commissions, proportions and percentages.
  • Ability to accurately prioritize, organize, and complete multiple tasks at once.
  • Must possess a high level of organizational skills.
  • Must be detail-oriented.
  • Must be able to meet deadlines and to work under the pressure of short time constraints.
  • Must be able to develop and maintain cordial and professional relationships with all levels of the business.
