Job Responsibilities

This position plans, conducts, leads or supervises the financial and/or compliance audits of assigned Federal Grant Subrecipients as well as determines the scope of audit required.

Primary Duties & Responsibilities:

  • Serves as job expert or organizational resource in assigned area(s). Work collaboratively as well as flexibly with others to accomplish the organizational goals.
  • Work with DPH and the University System of Georgia for auditing the funds received from federal grants related to COVID-19
  • Maintains a high level of professionalism, integrity, and confidentiality.
  • Examine financial records and/or financial systems for efficiency, effectiveness, and the use of accepted accounting procedures to record transactions.
  • Assessing records for compliance with the required policies, procedures, legislation, and laws.
  • Assist DPH staff, the Interim Chief Financial Officer and Director, Budget Services and University System of Georgia staff in the development/refinement of audit objectives, scopes and the Agreed Upon Procedures.
  • Ensure that draft reports are technically complete and adhere to the applicable standards.
  • Ability to interpret statistical data
  • Ability to perform as well as review bank statements and bank reconciliations

Minimum Qualifications

Master's degree in a related field from an accredited college or university OR Bachelor's degree in a related field from an accredited college or university AND Two years of related experience OR Associate's degree in a related field from an accredited college or university AND Three years of related experience

Pay Grade: TPW

This is temporary or hourly paid work performing financial, accounting and auditing duties. Positions in this job are established for less than 9 months or scheduled for less than 30 hours per week and are not eligible for benefits if the position status is temporary (i.e., SCOA 513). Positions in this job are established for greater than 9 months and scheduled for greater than 30 hours per week if the position status is permanent labor (i.e., SCOA 512). Normally permanent labor positions are eligible for Health Insurance benefits.

DPH accepts educational credential recognized by the Council for Higher Education Accreditation (CHEA) and/or the US Department of Education (DOE) will be considered. DPH will contact educational institutions to verify degree, diploma, licensure, etc.
