The Accounting Department is now hiring for an Accountant I for the health system, located near our Regional Medical Center in Boise!
Position Details: As the Accountant I you will be responsible for journal entries and posting of all cash deposited to any Saint Alphonsus related bank account. You will also audit all petty cash accounts distributed throughout the organization. This includes the application of generally accepted accounting principles and internal controls. Areas of involvement for this position will include financial statement preparation, budgeting, cost accounting, reimbursement, tax preparation, external and internal audits and financial systems implementation and improvement.
An ideal candidate will have a solid accounting base in the areas described above, have accounting experience working with non-profit accounting, solid Excel experience, excellent communication skills and the ability to think fast on your feet.
Education and Experience Requirements:
Bachelor's degree in Accounting or Finance required. Degree in Accounting preferred. MBA or CPA preferred.
Accounting experience preferred but not necessary.
Public accounting or health care preferred.
Knows, understands, incorporates, and demonstrates the Organization's Mission, Vision, and Values in behaviors, practices, and decisions.
Responsible for internal and external cash audits ensuring compliance to SAHS Cash Control Policy and Procedure.
Reviews and reconciles budgetary expenses and processes journal entries and accruals for accurate reporting on the monthly responsibility summaries.
Balances the Healthquest patient revenue system in accordance with the cash policy.
Responsible to track any reimbursable contracted funds (tuition, relocation, cafeteria charges, etc.) issued to SAHS employees, including invoicing and collection of unfulfilled obligations.
Responds to SAHS department manager's inquiries regarding any budgetary discrepancies related to their responsibility summaries.
Ensures all cash: patient and non-patient is accurately posted, reconciled and balanced to the PeopleSoft Financial System.
Responsible for the recording of donations and expenditures of donor restricted funds via the Financial Edge System; and of the upload of that information into the PFM System.
Audits condominium association contracted financial vendors including: reports, invoicing, accounts payable payments, collections, and statements. Presents the financials at the annual condo board meeting.
Invoices all non-patient revenue via Peachtree, including rentals, pharmacy, biomed, condo maintenance, etc.
Responsible for the extraction of revenue expenses from the Etreby System on behalf of Mednow/Sarmed Pharmacies and posting the information into the PFM System.
Responsible for the filing of all county tax exemptions and the payment of all non-exempt property taxes.
Compiles yearly 990 and 990T tax information.
Demonstrated strong organizational and communication skills.
Demonstrated knowledge of computer based financial systems.
Intermediate computer skills with emphasis on excel, database and spreadsheet programs.
