The Senior Accountant is responsible for providing leadership and ensuring daily operations comply with accounting and internal controls. This individual will fulfill a variety of technical, clerical, internal and external responsibilities as delegated by the Controller. The role’s tasks include input and preparation of journal entries, general ledger management and generating financial reports. This role will consist of performing day-to day general accounting functions.

 

I.                   ESSENTIAL DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES

    • Monitor daily sales and process invoice exceptions and overrides.
    • Perform reconciliation of reported sales invoices to collections and subsystem reports.
    • Review credits issued for proper approvals and daily preparation of manual invoices in trade for all parts sales.
    • Review and report as “ready” daily journal entries for sales activity, ecommerce fees, payments on account, refund checks, etc.
    • Monitor and manage sales-related bounced checks, ensuring timely follow-up, and reconcile daily cash reports.
    • Process PayPal & eBay transaction reconciliation and funding recovery.
    • Review daily Cash Reconciliations of operating sites to cash drawers.
    • Lead AR reporting for review and management focus on recovery.
    • Manage oversight and involvement of escalation of collection actions.
    • Weekly refund check journal creation, upload and matching.
    • Monitor and review reconciliations of advance payments for auctions.
    • Assist with month end close as required, including heap transfers, bulk matching in accounts receivable, and reclass of sales to proper purpose codes.
    • Support KPI with data.
    • Other job duties as assigned.

II.                Required Skills / Abilities

 

    • Excellent accounting software user and administration skills.
    • Strong interpersonal and communication skills.
    • Advanced MS Excel skills and power-user of large data sets.
    • Experience with MS Dynamics 365, Tableau, QlikView, Business Discovery tools preferred, but not required.
    • Familiarity with auto part dismantling software such as Hollander/Powerlink preferred, but not required.
    • Proven aptitude of adopting and optimizing use of new technology application and tools

 

III.             Education & Experience

 

    • BS degree in Accounting, Finance or other related fields is required
    • At least 5 years of accounting experience in manufacturing or a similar role.
    • CPA license preferred, or working to obtain CPA license.
